Monica CONTE has obtained her master and her doctor degree in Cellular Biology at University of Campinas – UNICAMP (Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil). Currently, she develops her Post-doctoral in the same institution, with the projects: Analysis of allelic variation between regions hom(e)ologous, in sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) from clones of a BAC library.
She arrived in CNRGV in June of 2011 and she will be here until September of 2011 to construct a BAC library for sugarcane, in order to complement and accelerate the development of genetic maps, facilitating the location of genes controlling quantitative traits and finally, contributing to the improvement of new varieties.
