New publication: Apricot domestication informed by genomic data

Added on : 16 July 2021

The genomic study of apricot diversity unravels domestication history and major adaptive events.

Published in Nature Communications on June 25, 2021

We are delighted to have participated in this large collaborative work, which involved different laboratories INRAE, CNRS and universities of Bordeaux and Paris Saclay.

This work led by Véronique Decroocq of INRAE Bordeaux, UMR 1332 BFP, sheds light on the history of apricot domestication based on the study of genomic data from more than 900 apricot trees worldwide, and in particular on the high quality sequencing of 4 genomes, 2 of which were carried out at CNRGV.

This study gives clues on the biology of the selected traits and delivers targets for selection of fruit trees.
