Spodoptera

Spodoptera frugiperda is a butterfly of the Order of Lepidoptereae and the family Noctuidae polyphyllophage. It is found on the South American Continent. The caterpillar, fall armyworm, is known for its damage to the corn and the cotton that causes great loss to cultures. The caterpillar is easily recognized: about 3cm long, brown to yellow, it shows brown parallel lines from the end of the abdomen up to the head.
