In 12th January 2019, at San Diego in USA, Hélène Bergès was awarded an IWGSC Outstanding Leadership Award by Kellye Eversole - IWGSC Executive Director, in recognition and appreciation of her leadership in BAC pooling and BAC libraries.

Hélène has been involved in the IWGSC from its inception and has repeatedly demonstrated her leadership in making the BAC libraries accessible and in rapidly pooling the BACs for the completion of all of the physical maps. It has been a great pleasure to work with her and her team at CNRGV who seem to not know the word “impossible”. – Kellye Eversole
