Hélène Bergès and Stéphane Cauet were invited as Genomics Experts at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During their visit they have the opportunities to see all the core labs and major facilities that KAUST has set up in order to develop projects focusing on topics relevant to the effects of the environment on organisms, the sustainable production of food, the use of high-salinity or poor-quality water, the optimization of energy used in the production of water and food.

Hélène and Stéphane had the opportunity to discuss with collaborators with whom they are already working in the frame of collaborations. Thus, they had fruitful discussions with Pr Simon Krattinger’s group. Professor Krattinger's research focuses on cereal genomics and plant-pathogen interactions. With a special thanks to Michaël Abrouk!

They also met Pr Salim Al Babili’s group. The aim of Dr. Al-Babili's research is to generate crops with improved agricultural performance and enhanced nutritional value. With a special thanks to Boubacar A. Kountche!

During a symposium, Hélène and Stéphane presented the interest of the CNRGV highlighting new cutting-edge technologies and major projects developed in the lab.
